THE WHat

Sa-Bai certainly doesn’t enjoy school, but she has little choice in the matter. After all, who’s pushing her? She’s just a stray cat.
When Sa-Bai was about three weeks old, a kind elderly woman discovered her in a dimly lit alley behind a bustling restaurant, desperately searching for scraps. The tiny kitten was so weak from hunger that she could barely stand. The only thing that stood out were her large, tear-filled eyes. Sa-Bai was fighting for survival, her frail body little more than skin and bones.
The old lady, with a gentle heart, reached into her pocket and pulled out a half-eaten cookie, offering it to Sa-Bai. Unbeknownst to the kitten, this sweet woman was also struggling to find nourishment in the shadows of the city. Overcome by the fear of losing her precious treat, Sa-Bai snatched the cookie and bolted, leaving the old lady behind.
As she ran, Sa-Bai suddenly realized that the woman, too, looked weary and hungry, her own body a testament to hardship. Guilt washed over the kitten as she turned back to see the old lady weeping softly in the darkness.
In that moment, Sa-Bai felt a pang of remorse. How could she have been so selfish? With determination, she returned, offering half of her cookie to the old woman. The elderly lady’s face lit up with joy, realizing that her small act of kindness had inspired Sa-Bai to share in return.
From that day forward, a beautiful friendship blossomed between Sa-Bai and the old lady, who was named Sa-Sa. They became inseparable companions, sharing meals, stories, and the warmth of their bond. But one day, Sa-Sa decided it was time for Sa-Bai to embark on a new journey—school.
And so, while Sa-Bai may not have been thrilled about the idea, she knew that this was another step in their extraordinary adventure together.
